Tier Description

• S – Very good at what they do; always pick even without any specific synergies.
• A – Still very good units, just a tiny bit less impactful than S category.
• B – Decent units; will do well if combined with specific strategy/synergy.
• C – Generally don’t pick unless you are going for a very specific build/strategy and need some of their debuffs or synergies.
• D – Never ever pick (If my jail was big enough, I would lock all of them there).

It is also worth mentioning that some units like, for example, Crossbowman are not interesting when I play as Undead, and upgrading it will cost me a lot of books, but I will always pick them as Human since upgrading is cheap – so treat this tier list from the perspective of a neutral kingdom as the upgrade costs would be gold bars/books.

I have also marked heroes very effective against bosses with “B” and against villains with “V.”

B Tier:

• Archer, Swordsman, Yeti, Angel, Miner, Bee, Shroom, Leech, Observer, Monk, Griffin, Lightning Elemental, Flamewalker, Jouster, Vampire, Crossbowman, Air Elemental, Dark Elemental

C Tier:

• Dryad, Werewolf, Halfling, Ghost, Bard, Magus, Druid, Lich, Fire Elemental, Marksman, Colossus

D Tier:

• Psion, Ghoul, Shaman, Stormcaller, Paladin, Dancer, Succubus, Jester
