Key Side Quest Guide

Several side quests unlock permanent upgrades and important gameplay features. It is recommended to complete them as they become available.

Side Quest Types

Normal Side Quests

These quests are accepted from NPCs in towns. Some require story progression or specific conditions before they become available.

Trinket Side Quests

During story missions, you can find hidden ? markers. Interacting with one unlocks a new side quest back in one of the towns.

Special Side Quests

These are secret side quests that unlock unique rewards, such as additional partners.

Normal Side Quests

Opportunity

Location: Town of Beginnings

Requirement:

• Defeat the Glenspore Grizzly.

Rewards:

• 200 EXP
• 5 Healing Potions
• Unlocks Costumes
• Unlocks Gear Dyeing

Thrill of the Unknown

Location: Town of Beginnings

Available after:

• Reaching Weapon Proficiency 10 with any weapon.

Requirement:

• Complete the Teardrop Cave dungeon.

Rewards:

• 200 EXP
• 3 Mines
• Unlocks Sword Skill Leveling

Trinket Side Quests

Depiction of the Divine

Available after:

• Main Quest: Secret Medicine of the Forest

Trinket Location:

• Near the Mountain Fortress safe area.

Requirement:

• Defeat the Shrewman Queen.

Rewards:

• 200 EXP
• 1 Mystic Crystal
• +1 Healing Crystal

Permanent Bonus:

• Increases the maximum number of reusable Healing Crystals you can carry.

Wayfarer’s Woe

Available during:

Trinket Location:

• Near the Northern Primordial Sands safe area, behind a Seal.

Requirement:

• Complete Neveca’s Sanctuary.

Rewards:

• 200 EXP
• 3 High Frost Stones
• +1 Healing Crystal

Permanent Bonus:

• Increases the maximum number of reusable Healing Crystals you can carry.

Special Side Quests

Asuna

Requirement:

• Complete the Main Quest Black Swordsman 1.

Steps:

1. Accept Keepsake in Urbus and complete it.
2. Accept Friendship in Urbus and complete it.
3. Accept Renown in Urbus.
4. Complete Renown to unlock Asuna as a partner.

Agil

Requirement:

• Complete the Main Quest Black Swordsman 2.

Steps:

1. Accept Fabled Foods in Urbus and complete it.
2. Accept Worries in Urbus and complete it.
3. Accept Years Together in Urbus.
4. Complete the quest to unlock Agil as a partner.

Kirito

Unlock Requirement:

• Complete the Main Quest Black Swordsman II.
• During the Main Quest Cliffside Marvel, activate the Hidden Terminal northwest of the Rubas Highway safe area.

Quest Chain:

1. Complete Heartbeat (Urbus).
2. Complete Responsibility (Urbus).
3. Complete Trust (Urbus).

Klein

Unlock Requirement:

• Complete the Main Quest Black Swordsman II.
• Complete Field Trip.
• During Bride-to-Be, activate the Hidden Terminal near the Western Primordial Sands safe area (required for The Sealed Treasury side quest).

Quest Chain:

1. Complete Bride-to-Be (Tolbana).
2. Complete Suspicion.
3. Complete Truth.

Lisbeth

Unlock Requirement:

• Complete the Main Quest Seeking Hope.

Quest Chain:

1. Complete Helping With Trade.
2. Complete Hannah’s Request.
3. Complete A Merchant’s Plea.

Silica

Unlock Requirement:

• Complete the Main Quest Violet Footsteps.

Quest Chain:

1. Complete Annihilation (Horunka).
2. Complete Monster Mystery.
3. Complete A Monstrous Secret.
